Oscar Nominated Director JAMIE DONOUGHUE

Jamie Donoughue is an Oscar-nominated film and television director whose work spans major international broadcasters and platforms including Netflix, Sky, the BBC and more. His work spans high-profile TV dramas and shorts, with recent credits including co-Directing MAYA alongside Daisy Haggard and starring Bella Ramsey, TRIGGER POINT (2025) and A TOWN CALLED MALICE (2023).

Other credits include THE LAST KINGDOM, DOCTOR WHO, A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES and many more.

Masterclass Details: Over two intensive, immersive days, this masterclass pulls you deep into the beating heart of the industry — not just how to book the job, but how to build a career that lasts. Drawing on years of experience directing at the highest level, Jamie breaks down the entire journey with honesty and precision: how to break in, how to navigate the casting process with confidence, and how to deliver performances on set that are truthful, grounded, and impossible to ignore.

Casting Associate TARA MCKEOWN

Bio:
Tara McKeown is a casting associate originally from Hull, now based in Leeds.

Tara originally trained as an actor at The Gaiety school of acting (Dublin) and in 2020, she was part of the first cohort of the National Film and Television School’s Casting Certificate Course, set up by Shaheen Baig and Jina Jay.

Tara has worked across studio features, independent film, television series and animation, including projects with BBC Studios (The Dumping Ground, Casualty, EastEnders), Clerkenwell Films’ Deadpoint and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. As Casting Director credits include ‘Britain Under the Nazis: The Forgotten Occupation’ (Channel 4), ‘Can I Tell You A Secret’ (Netflix), ‘Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investogators’ (BBC). Other recent credits as casting assistant include The Damned, Marching Powder and Channel 4’s new comedy series Stepping Up. She has worked alongside casting directors such as Jessie Frost (Triangle of Sadness) and Rose Wicksteed (The Conjuring franchise), and is a committed champion of northern talent.

Workshop details: Tara leads a Casting Workshop. Participants will be sent TV/Film sides to work on with Tara and this workshop will follow a TV/Film format. Tara will lead a discussion and Q&A with the participants, sharing her knowledge and inspiration.

TV/FILM DIRECTOR SURI KRISHNAMMA - FULL DAY ‘SCREEN ACTING’ WORKSHOP

BIO: Winner of a Royal Television Society award and three time BAFTA nominee, Suri Krishnamma has an extremely broad range of experience across television and feature film.

Suri regularly directs on continuing dramas, CORONATION STREET (ITV), EMMERDALE (ITV) and CASUALTY (BBC). Suri also recently directed on THE CANTERVILLE GHOST (BBC), THE LIBRARIANS: THE NEXT CHAPTER (Balkanic Media), as well as award-winning productions A RESPECTABLE TRADE (The Irish Film Board) and THE CAZALETS (BBC). Suri has directed on numerous prime time dramas such as WAKING THE DEAD (BBC), BLUE MURDER (Granada Television) and COLD BLOOD (ITV).

Internationally acclaimed, Suri has directed seven feature films including the award winning DARK TOURIST and A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE starring Albert Finney. His film NEW YEAR’S DAY was named Best UK Feature Film at Raindance.

Workshop Info:
THE CAMERA LOVES YOU - with Suri Krishnamma

This one-day intensive workshop will cover the nuts and bolts of performing on camera. It will explore the specific expectations of a screen actor, such as how to stay ‘in the moment’ when filming out of sequence, what impact shooting a scene in ‘cuts’ versus a single take has, how to work with developing shots and how to ensure your best take gets on camera.

Through practical exercises, participants will be guided through a process to find the meaning and hidden meaning of scenes, how to stage the hidden meaning, and how to change a performance quickly in front of a camera. Exercises will be recorded and debriefed during the session.

Casting Director PAUSHALI BANIK

Bio:
Paushali first started her Casting journey in 2013 for an Independent Production company in India during her gap year and then went on to work for some of UK & US’ top Casting offices, casting on a wide range of acclaimed TV projects including ITV and BBC dramas such as Unforgotten, The Long Shadow, Sherwood, Starstruck, and World on Fire. Paushali has also worked as a casting assistant and associate for major streamers such as Netflix, Apple TV, Paramount and beyond, with notable credits including Judd Apatow’s Netflix Feature ‘The Bubble’, Alfonso Cuarón’s Apple TV drama ‘Disclaimer’, and the upcoming Feature Film, Practical Magic 2, directed by Susanne Bier.
Now a freelance Casting Director, Paushali brings her experience and expertise to a range of exciting, independent feature films in collaboration with emerging production houses and filmmakers.

TV Director / Producer - MUSTAPHA KSEIBATI

BIO:
Mustapha Kseibati is an award-winning Film and Television Director. For television, he has directed WATERLOO ROAD (BBC), TED’S TOP TEN (ITV), HOLLYOAKS (Channel 4), O’ PUSSY (BBC 3), CHRISTMAS JUMPERS (Sky Arts) and COCONUT (BBC 3).

A Screen International Star of Tomorrow, Mustapha was selected for Netflix x Creative England’s Breakout programme, BFI’s NET.WORK@LFF, and the prestigious Guiding Lights mentorship scheme, where he was mentored by BAFTA-winning director Paul Andrew Williams. Most recently, he shadowed BAFTA-winning director Farren Blackburn on Sky’s GANGS OF LONDON, further deepening his experience in high-end drama. He is currently developing a YA television series with support from the BFI. Additional projects in development include a high-stakes action-drama TV series and two feature films. Alongside his long form work, Mustapha has three new short films in the pipeline. 

Of Lebanese descent, he grew up in West London consuming endless hours of British and American television series and films. His deep love of cinema and genre filmmaking alongside his background, continues to inform his unique perspective as a director.

WORKSHOP INFO: Mustapha leads a Screen Acting Workshop. Mustapha will focus on screen acting techniques, to give the actor a feel for what it's like to be directed by Mustapha Kseibati. You will receive sides before the workshop to work on with Mustapha in the session. We will explore all the above through practical exercises, discussion and chance to ask Mustapha questions throughout the session.

Manchester Casting Director CLAIRE BLEASDALE
- 'In Person' Casting Workshop

Claire Bleasdale, Casting Director

Claire trained as an actor at Manchester School of Theatre (1999 - 2002) and worked professionally in theatre, film, television, and radio before moving into casting.

She specialises in finding new talent through creative practices, as well as working with agents and groups to connect with their new and trusted talent. Claire includes street and workshop casting in her casting process. Building connections with incredible grassroots communities and groups to unearth fresh faces. Her work is grounded in finding authenticity and actors with an edge.

Claire cast the BAFTA winning film COWBOY DAVE and other award-winning shorts including REQUIEM, starring Bella Ramsey and Matthew Dunster’s directorial film debut JUDY, starring Maxine Peake.

In television she has cast five series of the Broadcast digital award and BAFTA nominated MEET THE RICHARDSONS.

And in theatre, Claire worked on Matthew Dunster’s and Not too Tame’s Olivier Nominated A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM for Shakespeare North Playhouse and Northern Stage.

LISA RICHARDSON Casting Assistant at Coronation Street
- 'In Person' TV Workshop

We are over the moon to have Lisa Richardson, Casting Assistant at Coronation Street, leading a Casting TV Workshop with us.

In the workshop: Participants will be sent sides to work on with Lisa, which will be taped and sent via email after the workshop. Lisa will host a meet and greet at the beginning of the workshop for everyone to get to know each other.

Casting Director SARAH LEUNG

Bio: Sarah was born in Manchester, coming from a mixed British/Chinese background, making her one of the only casting directors in the UK with Chinese heritage. She started her career in film as assistant to producer Larry Franco on BATMAN BEGINS. Later asked to return on post-production as assistant to Emma Thomas (wife of director Christopher Nolan). From here, Sarah moved into casting, assisting in Film (WARNER BROS, UNIVERSAL) TV (BBC, ITV, C4) and Theatre (WEST END, London).

Most recently Casting Director on, PAST LIFE with Emile Hirsch, MISS SAIGON (New Production, 2025-26 UK & Ireland Tour, Cameron Mackintosh & Michael Harrison), TRUEMAN AND THE ARSONISTS by Simon Stephens (Roundhouse London), UNFORTUNATE by Robyn Grant and Daniel Foxx, TO WONG FOO by Douglas Carter Beane, George Takei’s ALLEGIANCE, ZAYLA by Courteney Tan East/SKY, TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE by Asia Mackay East/Sky.
