Kristian Dench  - Producer 'The Capture' BBC

We are over the moon to be collaborating with Trinity Fox (advisers to BBC The Capture), bringing their Two Day course outside of London for the first time. Trinity Fox is the only company in the world that has UK Special Forces (Tier 1), Counter Terrorism and policing experts acting as advisors to TV and Film. This includes Specialist Firearms Officer (CTSFO) instructors supporting productions from script to on set advice and the training of lead actors . They have career experience in all areas of military and law enforcement covert specialist/intelligence/CT operations, bomb disposal EOD, surveillance, threat to life, personal protection, as well as extensive real world experience of investigations, intelligence, strategic and tactical operational deployments.

Their credits include acting as storyline consultants and police/military Advisers to BBC The Capture series 1-3. Netflix film I Came By. London Film and TV Hallow Road

A company formed of ex UK Metropolitan Police, Special Forces and international firearms experts who provide on set support and  firearms training to the television and film industry. They also provide script and story support through our associate writers and operators with a wide range of real world operational experience. They undertake tailored training and instruction for actors and stunt professionals for specific roles and scenes in productions that require bespoke firearms training and safety input. 

They train actors and stunt professionals in firearm safe handling and authenticity for on set tactical performances.  

​​They are currently providing support and firearm safety training for actors on major BBC dramas and on film sets in the UK.

Course Outline:

Day 1 - 9:30am - 4:30pm

Introduction to Weapons on set

• Weapon safety in film and TV – safety rules and guidelines.

• Learn the different types of weapons, ammunition and their application on set.

• Become familiar with holding and operating a weapon pistol/carbine.

• Understand and apply the guidelines and law for use of firearms film and TV -ETIS20

• Movement and Dynamic search with weapons – pistol/carbine /taser.

• Bodyguard training and scenarios

Day 2 - 9:30am - 4:30pm

Tactical confidence with Weapons

• Team entry and challenge suspects.

• Arrest and handcuffs technique.

• Movement and Dynamic search with weapons

• Police terminology and character context..

• Practical scenario-based assessments of safe weapon use

• Debrief and filming of making weapon safe for social media.

BIO: Winner of a Royal Television Society award and three time BAFTA nominee, Suri Krishnamma has an extremely broad range of experience across television and feature film.

Suri regularly directs on continuing dramas, CORONATION STREET (ITV), EMMERDALE (ITV) and CASUALTY (BBC). Suri also recently directed on THE CANTERVILLE GHOST (BBC), THE LIBRARIANS: THE NEXT CHAPTER (Balkanic Media), as well as award-winning productions A RESPECTABLE TRADE (The Irish Film Board) and THE CAZALETS (BBC). Suri has directed on numerous prime time dramas such as WAKING THE DEAD (BBC), BLUE MURDER (Granada Television) and COLD BLOOD (ITV).

Internationally acclaimed, Suri has directed seven feature films including the award winning DARK TOURIST and A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE starring Albert Finney. His film NEW YEAR’S DAY was named Best UK Feature Film at Raindance.

Workshop Info:
THE CAMERA LOVES YOU - with Suri Krishnamma

This two-day intensive workshop will cover the nuts and bolts of performing on camera. It will explore the specific expectations of a screen actor, such as how to stay ‘in the moment’ when filming out of sequence, what impact shooting a scene in ‘cuts’ versus a single take has, how to work with developing shots and how to ensure your best take gets on camera.

Through practical exercises, participants will be guided through a process to find the meaning and hidden meaning of scenes, how to stage the hidden meaning, and how to change a performance quickly in front of a camera. Exercises will be recorded and debriefed during the session.

Bio: David Allain is an award-winning Scriptwriter and Director. His credits include TV, theatre, short films, and advertising for clients such as CNN, O2, THE GUARDIAN, and SKY ARTS. In 2023, three episodes of ‘The Bay’ directed by David were broadcast on ITV (this work then went onto win Best Debut Director, Scripted at the 2024 TV Foundation New Voices Awards). In 2021, David directed a BBC comedy pilot, ‘Bravo Two Charlies’, and directed 2nd Unit on ITV’s four-part crime drama ‘The Long Call’.

His recent short film ‘Revelations’ stars Wil Johnson (‘House of the Dragon’) and Kola Bokinni (‘Ted Lasso’); it was a winner of the Directors UK x ARRI Challenge Alexa, and won awards on the festival circuit in the UK, USA, and Europe. Recently, David participated in the Edinburgh TV Festival’s Visionaries 2025. Fact or fiction, long or short, David makes compelling work that combines visual flair with emotive storytelling.

Workshop Format: When we are ready for anything, unexpected challenges can be harnessed to create brilliant scenes. David Allain is a master of versatility. With directing credits including work for ITV, BBC, Channel 4, and Sky, David has collaborated with BAFTA-winning talent and untrained actors to tell powerful stories.

In this full-day workshop, David shares skills that actors can use within their process immediately. Using texts from his own projects, get a sense for what it is like working on set with David. Practical exercises will include acting from scripts, blocking, identifying a scene’s essence, adapting, and ways of collaborating with a director. Gain skills in this workshop to enhance your screen acting and successfully take on unexpected challenges.

Bio: David Allain is an award-winning Scriptwriter and Director.

In 2023, three episodes of ‘THE BAY’ directed by David were broadcast on ITV (this work then went onto win Best Debut Director, Scripted at the 2024 TV Foundation New Voices Awards). In 2021, David directed a BBC comedy pilot, ‘BRAVO TWO CHARLIES’, and directed 2nd Unit on ITV’s four-part crime drama ‘THE LONG CALL’. His recent short film ‘Revelations’ stars Wil Johnson (‘House of the Dragon’) and Kola Bokinni (‘Ted Lasso’). More recently, David participated in the Edinburgh TV Festival’s Visionaries 2025.
